It depends on which of the two products you use. Finance & Operations publishes its tables to your own data lake through Azure Synapse Link for Dataverse, and we read that export. Business Central we read through its official API (v2.0), with an app registered in your Microsoft Entra ID that only has read permission. Either way we install nothing in your Dynamics and updates are automatic.
